Corron Mission Statement

On February 18, 2005 the staff of Corron Elementary School crafted the following mission statement. Dr. Sandra Wright facilitated our thinking about the purpose of a mission statement as we reviewed the d303 vision and 12 dreams statements staff and parents had written earlier in the year.

Corron commits to creating a community of reflective, responsible, self-motivated learners willing to take risks as we work to achieve our goals.

On our journey of discovery we will show compassion and RESPECT for all!

The following acronym will help us communicate our mission to students.

Corron Students Leave Tracks of R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Responsibility
Excitement for Learning
Safety
Positive-Thinking
Excellence
Cooperation
Trust

How we will work together: Corron Team Spirit!

The dreams were written by a group of staff members and parents on December 2, 2004. These statements guided our thinking about Corron's Mission Statement. A survey of parents and staff helped us prioritize these dreams.

As a result of their experiences at Corron Elementary students…

  • Respect others, themselves, and their environment.
  • Develop a passion, love, and excitement for learning.
  • Feel self-motivated to achieve their best.
  • Are challenged at their instructional level.
  • Feel self-confident.
  • Feel a sense of belonging and responsibility to their school and community.
  • Feel safe and secure within the school community.
  • Develop a sensitivity and appreciation for themselves and others’ uniqueness.
  • Learn the importance of being a team player.
  • Think 3-D: Self, Community, World.
  • Celebrate their best work and character.
  • Locate, evaluate, and synthesize information throughout their lifetime.
