Tech tips on changing passwords

Caution: Network Passwords Are Beginning To Expire

A reminder your D303 network logins have begun to expire. Every 90 days you will be prompted to change your password. The first 90 days has passed for some staff members depending on when you first logged in for the school year.

Please change your password immediately when prompted, this is the only time you will be prompted!

Example 1 is the message that will appear. Select OK and Example 2 will appear

Example 1

Example 2

This screen allows you to change your password; it has to be a password you have not used before and a minimum of 8 characters. See additional tips below

Unlike past years you will not receive additional prompts to change your password. If you do not change the password at this prompt you will be locked out and your password will need to be reset.

The LRC Staff or Janice Finke can reset the password. Your “A” number is necessary in order to reset the password and you will be immediately prompted to change the password.

Password Tips:

I understand that the timing may not be convenient. To change your password quickly, use a generic word or just increment your old password by a character until you have more time.

Your password can be a word, a phrase, a series of numbers as long as it is a minimum of 8 characters. A combination of alpha and numeric is best for password security.

You have the ability to change your own password at anytime. While logged in press CTL+ALT+DEL and select the Change Password button and follow the prompts.

I hope this clarifies the steps, please contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Message from Kara Goff about changing email password in IGPro

Please note:

If you are prompted to change your Novell password, this also changes your email password.

So, if you use IGP, you will need to change your email password on IGP before you can send out your progress emails to parents. Open your IGP and go to the Setup menu. Select Communications, and then the Email tab. Change your password to the new Novell password, and click Close and SAVE YOUR GRADE BOOK. You should be able to send out the emails to parents again now.
