Dennis & Judith Fradin

Dennis Fradin has written over 150 books for children. He enjoys writing and researching his books, because he gets to interview interesting people and visit lots of places. I try not to let a day of the year go by without working. His books include a series covering each of the fifty United States, a series on natural disasters, and biographies. He is primarily known for his nonfiction books, but also writes fiction books for children. Fradin was an elementary school teacher in Chicago before he became a children's book author. Judith Fradin has collaborated with her husband on many of the state books. She researched the books and he wrote them. In 1994, she began writing the Famous People part of the state books and also wrote about the modern issues and events in the State series books. They wrote a book a month for nearly five years. She has also been the photographer for many of his books. A biography of the great civil rights leader Ida B. Wells was another of their collaborations. They live in Evanston, Illinois.
