Dear Wasco Families,
With the holiday season upon us, we hope you are taking advantage of our Market Day opportunities. Many thanks for Charlene Anomanni who chairs this committee and sees that everyone gets the food they ordered.
Planning for our 4 th Annual Talent Show is underway. This is a great way for your shining star to share their special talent. Thank you Linda Allamian for coordinating this fun event!
Anna Kotvan has volunteered to be in charge of the Science Kits used by our classrooms. Anna will be restocking the Science Kits when the teachers are finished with their lessons. We appreciate you stepping forward Anna!
Have you checked out the PTO bulletin board recently? Each month Joey Hanson updates the board with new information. She also redecorated the bulletin board over the summer. Stop by and see the latest information. Thanks for keeping us informed Joey!
We would like to wish all of you a very happy holiday season!

Meijer Rewards
Shopping for the upcoming holidays is easy at Meijer. They have a great selection of food and toys at affordable prices. Be sure to visit Meijer for all of your holiday and winter needs; from candy canes to eggnog, from Dora to Batman; and from salt to shovels, Meijer has it all. Help your school earn money by using your Meijer Community Rewards card every time you shop! Other relatives that want to have their rewards apply to your account need to "link" their card to yours using the family and friends option. Complete instructions on how to do this is online or on the paper application that you can pick up in the school’s lobby.
If you have not already joined, please join today…it’s free and easy to use! Just swipe your MCR card at the register and you can pay for your purchases any way you choose - cash, check, or charge. The MCR card is not a credit card; it is strictly for fundraising. The more you shop, the more Wasco earns! Don’t forget to include Wasco School’s code 359557 when applying for the rewards program; you can even do it online at meijer.com/rewards. If you have any questions, please contact Renee Bielski at 630-587-9683. Thank you for supporting your Wasco PTO!

Pie Day
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Our second annual Pie Day was a huge success. Thank you to all who made pies or bought them, baked them, and brought them. There is nothing more gratifying than seeing the teachers faces light up when they see 70 pies donated by the Wasco families for them. They sure did appreciate the extreme kindness. Now that you’re already in the baking spirit, don’t forget I’ll be looking for bakers for our Staff Christmas Cookie Exchange this month.

convince them by everything you do and by your everyday
Attitude that you are wholeheartedly supporting them.”

Wasco Used Book Sale
The Wasco Used Book Sale is coming this Spring on April 20 th. It’s never too early to start boxing up books your family has outgrown for donations. Wasco Book Bucks are awarded for every 5 items donated, and can be exchanged for new-to-you books at the sale. The Wasco Used Book Sale is more than just a fundraiser; it is a literacy booster and a community service project as well! Interest in reading soars when paperbacks are only 50 cents, and all unsold books are donated to worthy causes such as: Bookworm Angels, the Kane County Courthouse Waiting Room for Children and Goodwill Industries. Tell your friends and neighbors that we accept donations the week of the sale. Thanks to the Wasco Community for your continued support of this great event.
Centennial Memorabilia
Thanks to wonderful members of the Memorabilia Committee! Anna Kotvan & Tina Lambert will be creating copies of the “Memories” album which was on display during the Open House & Dinner/Silent Auction. If you have not seen the book – it makes for remarkable reading! It holds memories of Wasco School days, dating back to the early 1900’s- written by former students & teachers! To see the contents, visit the school office. If you have any interest in ordering a copy (cost will be based upon response, but very minimal) please call Linda Allamian @ 377.6876 or e-mail Centennialspirit@comcast.net
Campbell’s Labels
We are now collecting Campbell’s Labels – and it’s NOT just soup! A very specific part is needed – please see the attached for details. Your help with sending them in is appreciated!
