Two St. Charles East High School clubs recently teamed up for a special spring community service project. Students in the HOPE (Helping Others Protect Each Other) and Clay Clubs created vases and flower arrangements for residents of Brighton Gardens. Brighton Gardens is a senior citizens residence specializing in assisted living, Alzheimer’s disease, and hospice care.
The Clay Club made the unique pottery and HOPE students filled them with roses. Members of both groups then delivered their creations to the senior center.
The HOPE club focuses on making healthy choices. Club meetings focus on preventing drug/alcohol abuse, self-esteem, family issues, divorce, dating and other issues important to teenagers.
